Emergency Rental Assistance for Tenants and Landlords in Colorado

States opened 2021 Emergency Rental Assistance programs with federal funds through the U.S. Department of the Treasury as authorized by the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021.

If you’re a tenant – or a landlord – who needs help getting rent paid in Colorado, take a look at the link below.

From the state of Colorado:
“Tenants who have been unable to pay rent due to financial hardship caused by COVID-19 may be eligible for rental assistance from their county or the State. The Colorado Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) can help cover rent as far back as April 2020. Help can include past due, current, and two additional months of rent up to a maximum of 15 months of assistance.

The landlord or the tenant can start the application process, but receiving assistance requires documentation from both the tenant and the landlord.”

Don’t think your landlord won’t be interested in helping you get caught up. This is good for them. If you’re a tenant, engage your landlord in this process and apply for the help you need.
