At the Museum and 15-acre rail yard in Golden, there are more than 100 engines, coaches, cabooses, a garden railway, and more. Visit the roundhouse restoration facility with a working turntable, take a train ride behind a vintage steam locomotive, and attend special events.
Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum
Located in a charming 1905 building, see amazing quilts from the 1800’s up to contemporary fiber art. There are tours, quarterly exhibits, and programs for all ages. The Museum Gift Shop features an ever-changing selection of unique handcrafted quilts by local artists, collectible figurines, jewelry, and other unusual items.
Clear Creek Trail and White Water Park
Clear Creek is Golden’s central hub of activity and is popular with fishermen who enjoy the “Golden Mile” fly fishing, rafters, kayakers, runners, roller bladers, bikers, picnickers, sunbathers and others all year round. The paved two-mile Clear Creek Trail is part of an extensive trail system.
The Clear Creek White Water Park is an award winner and is the host for annual events such as the Golden Games and the Golden Kayak Rodeo Competition.
