If you’re relocating to Colorado or even looking for a new place to call home in Denver Metro, be sure to give homes for sale in Westminster a serious look. About ten miles from downtown, it’s midway between Denver and Boulder, depending on which of the many roads you choose.
People move here for a close-in, suburban area with lots of open space, trails, and terrific mountain views. The schools are highly rated, and there are plenty of convenient and popular commercial areas. One is the Westminster Promenade, featuring top-flight local and national restaurants, hotels, and entertainment ranging from a comedy club to movie theaters. The Butterfly Pavilion, with around 1,600 rare butterflies twittering in complete freedom, attracts thousands of visitors from all over Denver Metro.
Westminster has long been a locale for homes of all types from suburban estates and horse properties to traditional single-family neighborhoods to condos and townhomes. With the light rail system about to connect most of the metro area, however, urban-style dwelling will soon be part of the mix. Construction has started at Westminster Center, located near the bus and light rail transportation hub at Sheridan and Highway 36. It will be a bike- and pedestrian-friendly, mixed use development that promises to rival places downtown.
There are lots of great neighborhoods in Westminster. Bradburn Village is a fairly new urbanist village with a mix of higher-end and mid-priced homes and homes and townhouses surrounding a small village of eclectic local businesses and eateries. A newly opened Whole Foods grocery store is within easy walking distance. Sunstream is a very popular, well-established community with great access to trails and open space as well as schools. Legacy Ridge is a terrific golf community with new homes on good-sized lots. Many homes here have great views.
But that’s just a start. While Westminster has an eye to the future, it’s kept a foot in its historical past and offers an outstanding diversity of home types to accommodate most lifestyles. If you’d like to see a home or just learn more about the community, contact me.
