Midtown Denver: New Neighborhood Spotlight

Next to the Clear Creek Regional Trail, close to two future commuter rail stops and just minutes from LoDo, a new neighborhood is rising. It’s called Midtown. This area, 180 acres just north of I-76 and Pecos at west 68th Avenue, isn’t far from the excitement of Highlands, Berkeley and other new developments, including the new homes at Aria Denver. Midtown Denver seems destined to become a lively and vibrant community.

Midtown Denver Amenities 

There will certainly be lots to do in Midtown Denver. A community garden will open this summer and “The Garden Shed Community Center” is also planned. It’s described as “a place for gatherings large and small. Including art exhibits, community events and parties. This distinctive landmark welcomes all who enter Midtown. An outdoor plaza invites lectures, live music and seating within the garden.” The Dog Park will be a fenced, leash-free zone where your dogs can play and you can meet and socialize with your neighbors. It should open Fall 2013. The nearby Clear Creek Bike Path is 21 miles long and takes you through scenic open space. Take the trail all the way into Golden or east to the Platte River Trail and downtown Denver.

The single-family homes in Midtown Denver start in the high 200’s. The designs aren’t exactly like anything else in Denver and build on traditional notions of craftsman, prairie and Victorian farmhouse styles. On a recent tour, the neighborhood – even with construction going on everywhere – seemed colorful, very contemporary and friendly.

The floorplans are open and the homes feature unique courtyards. All the models include 2-car garages and many have upper-floor laundry, conveniently close to the bedrooms. By the time it’s complete, Midtown Denver will include 1,300 Energy Star® certified homes.

David Weekley Homes and Brookfield Homes at Midtown Denver

David Weekley’s unique single-family homes are being sold now at Midtown. The homes feature open floorplans and are Energy Star 3.0 verified. David Weekley Homes include Collection One, from the mid $200s and Collection Two, starting in the mid $300s. On a recent tour, I was impressed with the Cerulean model, which is 2,277 finished sq. ft. plus 1,115 lower level sq. ft. The home feels contemporary and open. Upper-floor laundry is convenient and I really liked the main floor study area at the front of the home. It’s easy to imagine many happy times gathered around the huge island in the kitchen, which feels big and open and looks fantastic. David Weekley Homes at Midtown feature Silestone kitchen countertops, tankless water heating and two-car alley-load garages or detached garages with “new urban” backyards.

Brookfield Homes is one of the nation’s top homebuilders and a leader in new home design and innovation. The company is making its Colorado debut at Midtown, with designs specifically for the community by three acclaimed architects. These homes successfully blend the indoor and outdoor living spaces, which makes them feel large and livable. You have options with the homes at Midtown Denver, too.
